The look, version by version. Every picture here was drawn by the renderer as it was at the time — the same strip and the same cast each time, so only the drawing changes. Past daily strips are kept the same way: each one is shown as it went out.
v5 · Balloons look againcurrent
From Oct 1, 2026 · #166 · drawn at 1d7c7e9
- Once the figures are drawn, a balloon sitting on somebody is reshaped — wider and shorter, or narrower and taller — and moved to the open space nearest its speaker.
- Balloons stay off faces, off the board and off each other's tails, and above or beside the speaker, never below.

v4 · Both arms, two ties
From Sep 28, 2026 · #163 · drawn at 54887f6
- Hands behind the back draw both arms, forearms tucked out of sight.
- The founder trades the CEO badge for an ochre tie; the exec keeps his terracotta one.

v3 · Dated and painted
From Sep 25, 2026 · #161 · drawn at 97b9ed3
- Every room carries the strip's date: a wall calendar, a desk clock, an LED panel, a newspaper box.
- A watercolour under the ink: four pigments and a skin tone, a wash per room, a colour per character.
- The model is the one figure left paper-white. Cast shadows under wide shots.

v2 · The camera moves
From Sep 25, 2026 · #160 · drawn at 85699c2
- The writer is told to move the camera: no two panels the same frame, at least two shots a strip.
- Three new rooms — meeting, cafe, home — and props that change from strip to strip.
- Every job on the shirt: </> for the dev, LLM for the model, USER for Norm, badges for the intern and the founder, a tie for the exec.

v1 · Ink only
From Sep 20, 2026 · #147 · drawn at 7e12240
- Six stock characters on the Knuckle-Butts pen, ink on paper, no colour.
- Six rooms: void, classroom, office, stage, datacenter, sidewalk.
- Balloons routed clear of the board and off the speaker's face (#149).
